I've been spending a lot of time in the pool this summer with Jon. There are many ways to enter a pool, but I tend to jump right in...I think its better to have one initial shock than to slowly walk down the steps and get used to the water. To me that just prolongs the agony.
In the journey that is our Christian walk, I tend to follow the same principle. Often this journey takes us to unexpected places. I like to think of myself as the disciple that wasn't afraid to get out of the boat. I get to experience the thrill of walking on water, if just for a few steps. I often start to sink and have to be rescued by my Lord when I realize where I am and see the waves around me. But the more I do this, the better I get at keeping my eyes on Him and not looking at the circumstances...at least that is my hope and prayer.
I chose the fire background for my page because I'm in the refining process and that involves a lot of fire. It isn't easy or painless to be refined, but it is what the Master does. He uses the fire to purify and form us into His image. He uses every trial and difficulty to form us but He also walks with us in the process. I have learned over the years, that He is good and He can be trusted.
When I thought about blogging, I couldn't decide which aspect of my life I would write about. I can't compartmentalize it so I think it's going to be about all of me. I guess I'll just have to write and see what comes out. I invite you to join me on this journey...WALK WITH ME!
